Darren Almeida has been running the Views From The Top website since 1994. Views From The Top is a hiking and backcountry website dedicated to the Northeastern United States.

Darren shoots with both traditional 35mm film and digital SLR cameras. His film camera is a Canon EOS Elan IIe and his digital body is a Canon EOS 20D. He exclusively uses Canon lenses including 24mm, 50mm, 100mm fixed and zooms ranging from 10mm to 400mm. A Bogen 3221 tripod with a Bogen 3055 ball head is used to support the camera. His film of choice is Fuji Velvia, an ISO 50 slide film that is tack sharp and offers nicely saturated colors.

When not hiking, Darren also enjoys ocean kayaking, cross country skiing, and both road and mountain biking.

Print Information: All prints are actual photo prints on Fuji photographic paper. The paper is exposed with light and processed in chemical baths. They are not inkjet prints. The prints are mounted on foam core and matted with acid free archival matts. Canvas prints are sprayed with a UV protective coating and, like paintings, do not require glass when hung.
